from within

A Soulful Mandala Yoga + Mindful Art Offering (autumn theme), connecting from within.

A MANDALA YOGA + ART OFFERING:

from within

Weaving two of my favourite practices (yoga and mindful art) — this session is an invitation to breathe, flow, and create — from the inside-out, rather than the outside-in.

In a world of endless notifications and constant noise, we are so often pulled outward — where the mind races, plans, and tries to stay in control. Here, we turn inward. We step out of the thinking-mind and into the feeling-body, shifting from doing to being. Every breath, every movement, every stroke of the pen becomes a way to reconnect with the centre of the Self.

This seasonal offering is inspired by the essence of Autumn — a time of gentle release, deep reflection, and slowing down. Together, we’ll create space to soften, to listen, and to express what lies within — allowing the natural cycles of the season to guide us back to balance.

WHEN?

Saturday, 8th November 2025

1:00pm — 4:00pm

WHERE?

“Wen created a very safe, calm and inclusive space. Her authenticity and gentleness encouraged me to let go and lean in to myself. Throughout the session, I felt something shift internally and was able to open and flow. Her instruction was so clear and comforting.  The workshop created a sense of togetherness and internal exploration. I felt I could be me and I felt safe.”

So, what is a Mandala?

A mandala is a symbolic, circular, geometric design, often used in Hindu and Buddhist traditions. It represents the universe, a microcosm of the cosmos.

The word "mandala" translates to circle, sacred centre, and essence in Sanskrit. Mandalas are used in various spiritual and ritual practices, often as a tool for meditation and focusing attention. Mandalas also represent oneness, wholeness and infinity (with no beginning or ending) - the circle of life.

Mandalas (not necessarily perfect circles) are commonly found in nature, appearing from the smallest particles to the largest celestial bodies - such as orbit of planets and moons, tree rings, stone, seashells, ripple of water and sound waves.

What to expect?

  • Mandala Yoga: The natural worlds are ever-changing through seasons and cycles. It is important to be reminded that this life journey is non-linear - it’s filled with spirals, twists, turns and detours. Similarly, our bodies are multi-directional, non-linear and curious beings. Mandala Yoga Flow embraces the organic nature of life and is not defined by rigid straight lines or confined plane of movement on the mat.

We will gather in a cosy circle and begin with a 75-min Mandala Flow, moving in circular motion around all corners of the mat.

All yoga props will be provided.

  • Mandala Art: The mindful drawing session will begin with some playful exploration through doodling, sketching with creative prompts, supported by a guided meditation to help you connect from within.

Just like how we explore embodied movement and mindful breath on the mat, we’ll bring the same awareness onto paper — using art as a way to connect with our inner world. Instead of trying to achieve the “perfect'“ art, how can we embrace the process and let your creativity flow from within?

At the end, there will be time and space to create your own Mandala Art — a symbolic reflection and expression of your personal journey, transformation and intention for the rest of the year, with options and ideas provided.

All art materials will be provided.

  • “We're all just walking each other home” - Ram Dass

Community (sangha) is a huge part of my WHY in my offerings. Life is a journey and we are not alone in it. This gathering is a space to meet you where you are on your journey, to get to know the Sangha and share as much or as little as you wish.

Herbal tea & plant-based snacks will be provided.

Meet your facilitator.

Bristol Yoga Teacher Wen Yee Kok

Wen is a Malaysian Chinese yoga sharer, wellness facilitator and creative based in Bristol, UK. Yoga first came into Wen’s life 18 years ago through physical poses (asanas), where her goal back then was to improve her flexibility for cheerleading. That was when she discovered yoga is not just a workout, but a work-in.

Since then, she lives life as a ritual, led from the wisdom of yoga. To her, yoga is not just something we do – it’s a way of being, feeling and living, where we carry the values beyond the mat, weaving them into the vessels of everyday life.

Over the past seven years, her approach to sharing yoga has evolved, shaped by her own sadhana and interest in Prana Vinyasa, Somatics, Daoism, Qi Gong, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Non-Dual Philosophy, Bhakti Yoga, and living in rhythm with nature.

Wen’s classes unfold as a journey to return home – intentional and progressive, woven with stories and embodied the elements of nature.

Heartfelt words from the previous offering.

“Wen is someone that teaches yoga and with so much passion, enthusiasm and wholesomeness. I can't tell you how amazingly Wen thought about every single aspect of this workshop, from the space she created to the way she held every single one of us & meeting us where we were. I love how all of us brought our own individuality and creativity into making our own mandala art. Wen’s storytelling at the start of the practice centres and grounds me into the space whilst encouraging me to take what I've learnt into my busy day-to-day life - she really is an absolute gem! Thank you for all the inspiration and wisdom you've given me in the short time you've been in Bristol.”

“Wen created a very safe, calm and inclusive space. Her authenticity and gentleness encouraged me to let go and lean in to myself. Throughout the yoga practise I felt something shift internally and was able to open and flow. Her instruction throughout was so clear and comforting. The mandala art session was again gentle and very encouraging tying the two practises together.  The whole afternoon created a sense of togetherness and internal exploration. I felt I could be me and I felt safe. BEAUTIFUL! Thank you, Wen.”

“I don’t know what it was, whether it was the practice or the art, or the talking, but I just feel utterly moved and have tears in my eyes when I think about the workshop.

The way you hold space is so so beautiful. I could tell that each pose had a meaning behind it and wasn’t there randomly. I loved how you shared your story before we began and showed us your drawings and inspiration, and then the closing when we could share our thoughts. I also love the circles you made on our papers - honestly, every detail was so thought through and they had such intention behind it that it made me feel really appreciated and well looked after.”
